Yes, you read that right. Welcome to the food storage revolution. You may be wondering how one can revolutionize food storage, I mean, how much can you do with those 50 lb bags of wheat, rice, and pinto beans? Sure, the occasional can of pudding mix or potato pearls livens things up, but that's old hat. You may think it's all been done, we've had rotation shelves for years, but this my friends, is an entirely different ballgame.

We're talking about versatility, ease, portability, art, culture, and above all...TASTE!! Yes, this is way beyond that stint with MRE's your family tried. Food storage is important whether it's during an economic disaster or simply difficult economic times. Having a reserve of food will give you and your family a sense of security. Having those meals be easy and delicious, will give you a sense of excitement and culinary satisfaction. After all, who wants to eat wheat mush and beef chunks day in and day out?

Here you will learn the art of the bag meal. It is portable, simple, user friendly, and delicious. Bag meals save you space. Would you have imagined that you can store an entire meal for 6-8 people in a standard sized gift bag? Would you have imagined that meal could be spiced pumpkin pancakes and sausage links, or an exotic dish of Moroccan Chicken and Couscous? Would you have imagined that someone with kitchen skills limited to Ramen Noodles could accomplish this feat for themselves in under 30 minutes? Welcome to the possibilities. If you are feeling the need to place your head between your knees and breathe deeply, we understand.

Our inventor, chef, and revolutionary, Michelle Snow (we refer to her as "The Bag Lady") is a published author. "It's in the Bag, a New Approach to Food Storage," will be gracing shelves in May of 2010, and is published by Cedar Fort Publishing, located in Springville, UT. The book contains over 150 delicious recipes, details of the bag meal idea's conception, how to set up your own bag meal system, and a multitude of provident living tips and tricks. Until May, we have set up this blog to give you an inside view of the book's journey, The Bag Lady's latest kitchen experiments, preview recipes, and a few book giveaways. Since The Bag Lady is often occupied in her kitchen, your inside peek will be coming from her daughter, The Bag-ette.

As I type, the aromas of Chicken Pasta Soup are wafting in. We have a concert tonight and are pressed for time. The Bag Lady started 15 minutes ago, and I am being called to the table now. Ahh, another bag meal success. Stay tuned, and until then, Happy Eating!
